In my school, the way it worked was sophomores (only about 5 total did every year, I did that with bio) could choose to take either AP Bio or APUSH. Junior year, most people start taking APs, generally taking lang jr. and lit sr., world jr. and US soph. or sr., and bio then chem or physics.

Here’s what my kids generally do:

9th Comp Sci AP
10th World History AP
11th English Lang AP, Chem AP, American History AP, CAL BC AP, Physics 1 and 2 (taught as one class in our school)
12th English Lit AP, Physics C, Music Theory or AP Psychology, AP German or AP Chinese, Am Gov/ Economics
