Cornell’s status as a “half-state” school certainly does not help the argument that Cornell is just as good as the other ivies. The truth is that Cornell is certainly not at par with schools like HYP. However, it is still a great school that students should be thrilled to attend. The differences between top schools are so negligible that personal preferences are taken into account when choosing among the top schools.

Saying Cornell is the worst Ivy is like saying a someone is the worst player in the hall of fame

Lowest Ivy?! You should be lucky you are admitted to one. And seriously, if you think Penn is only good for Wharton, you’re wrong. CAS is actually quite competitive.

I think Saugus was aiming for HYP since Freshman, I remember his post starting freshman year. Maybe he should have stayed off CC and just focused on his grades. I think if he was accepted to anything lower than HYP, he would have made the same comments. So it’s not Cornell.

I’m going to MIT next year – but had I not gotten in, I would have been torn equally between Cornell Engineering, UPenn & Princeton. I loved all these schools and you should feel very proud to be going. For lots of people, including some of my friends, it is their dream school.

Cut OP some slack. He probably has had HYP dreams for years and possibly having to see peers get into his dream school. This is a really tough time of year. Just know that Cornell is a COMPLETELY amazing university and that you will be happy there! “Lowest Ivy” means a lot less in the work world. It’s still extremely impressive.

This thread really should have just stopped at the first response. It’s brilliant.
