I liked Dark Knight a lot too; I think, however, that Inception blew it out of the water. What really made it amazing was that even with all its fabulous intricacies it captured the emotional essence that some people seem to forget was really the driving force behind the movie.

I would have to watch it at least twice more before I was prepared to make that bold of a statement. :)

^^I think so too.

Ehh, yeah true. The second Transformers was horrible though and I cannot stand Megan Fox. The first Matrix was the only good movie, the others were awful. I just watched this really weird/interesting movie called Teeth… That made me laugh.

I don’t mean to sound snobby (but let’s face it, I’m a SNOB), but I always wonder how some really smart people can have such awful taste in movies. This isn’t a swipe at Inception, which I haven’t seen, but…Transformers? Seriously people?

Go watch some foreign films!

A side note - I loved the soundtrack to this movie. Near the end, in particular. Music simply doesn’t get any more epic than this:

(I’m loving the 112 to 0 like/dislike ratio of this video, btw)

Gonna watch it tomorrow. After a brunch/study session at my favorite cafe nearby. Can’t wait!

^^^^(not counting??) Transformers 1 was pretty good, but the second one was just awful. Too many plot devices and what was up with the girl who turned into a robot?!

Teeth was a comedy/horror independent film. It was weird but it was honestly not that bad. But that’s coming from somebody who watches lots and lots of random movies on my X-box Netflix.

I loved this movie. It was one of the few movies I’ve seen that kept me guessing until the very end. Plus, my boy and I were debating the movie until about 7 AM (we went to the midnight premier), which we really do. I’m still going over things in my mind. I will watch it again.

Teeth is a WEIRD movie (OT).

LOVED it. I’m definitely going to see it again soon so I can follow everything a little bit better and really see how all the details come together in the end.

I still can’t decide whether I liked it better than The Prestige, which is my personal Nolan favorite. I loved TDK too, but there’s just something about The Prestige that makes it so much better in my eyes… definitely in my top five favorite movies of all time. I really, really did like Inception though, so it’s a tough decision. Only thing I know for sure is that Nolan is my favorite director by far… he’s ridiculous (in a good way!).

Yeah I’m going to see it again (while I’m fully awake) with my dad.

Also, I just saw Predators today. I must say I was very pleased with it. Especially since Topher Grace is in it :).

Teeth was weird but it wasn’t that bad. I never heard of it until I watched it.

Of the 14 people on this thread (excluding me):
9 saw and liked it.
1 saw it but did not state their opinion.
4 have not seen it.

^^^I totally forgot about the prestige, excellent movie.

Oh yes. “Well, it was worth a shot.” Can I keep him? :)

Christopher Nolan (I just looked it up today) is only 39! We can expect many more awesome movies from this one! :D

Much though I like Hans Zimmer, I thought that the music got too big too early. I remember noticing like “hm, it’s not quite climactic enough for that sort of music yet,” and as a music-non-noticer (mostly: LOTR love), that means it weren’t too subtle.

To be fair, Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks good in everything he’s in ;).

^Ah, COMPLETELY AGREE. JGL was amazing… and the scene w/ that line was adorable :)

AMAZING. And it’s one of those movies you have to see more than once to get a grasp of everything.

Also, Joseph Gordon-Levitt needs to just hurry up and marry me. Seriously.

Oh yes I know! Even in 10 Things I Hate About You! I was like omg. I have a thing for nerdy guys. I think Topher Grace is hella sexy, too. But damn JGV looked so fine in that movie especially in a suit. I call him!

Inception is perhaps the greatest movie I’ve seen since The Dark Knight. I want whatever Christopher Nolan is smoking.

The complexity of the plot was refreshing, but not distracting, and I felt the pacing was effortless and well-maintained. The concept of the movie and the story itself are brimming with creativity and originality, but leave space for the development of emotionally relatable characters (although some were admittedly stale). Also, I’m glad Nolan had the resources to make it as visually appealing as it was intellectually stimulating. Easily in my top 5, no doubt.

Hmm I think that Zooey Deschanel would have played a good Ariadne, though, Ellen Page did a good job.
