I think Ellen Page was perfect for that part. She has that intelligent, intriguing sounding voice that makes you want to hear what she has to say. Zooey is pretty hawt though. :o

Ellen Page did do a good job and I really wanted her to get with Joseph Gordon-Levitt (he’s so cute!) but Zooey has something about her that’s intelligent and fun.

Yeah, but if they casted Zooey Deschanel as Ariadne, her pairing with Gordon-Levitt would be seriously off-putting. Like watching 500 Days of Summer 2 or something.

Haha, yeah I was thinking the exact same thing. That was a good movie, too. It had a realistic ending.

I don’t think that Zooey Deschanel would have worked in that part; I never got the same intelligent vibe from her that I do from Ellen Page.

I never really had much of an intelligent vibe from Ellen Page. Especially from some of the movies she’s been in, but that’s my opinion.

In Juno, I saw an intelligent, hipster type vibe.

^^It’s hard to ignore the “awkward-teen-who-got-knocked-up-by-king-of-awkward-teens-Michael-Cera” image that Juno gave her. But I must say, she does pull of the intelligent college-student role very well.

I disagree with you all. They should have signed Lindsay Lohan up for that role.

And what type of major do you think she was pursuing in the movie? They say architect but I’m sure there must be more to that if she knew so much about psychology…

^bad ■■■■■ is bad.

I imagined her as a first or second year college student without a specific major, just a worldly general education from some prestigious European school. That’s my one grievance with this movie, that they didn’t expand upon the characters’ backstories aside from Cobb’s.

^Make genuine assumptions, I did. :p

I think that that was a very intentional move to give the movie more focus and momentum.

A little more exposition would have sufficed, in my opinion. The characters were insufficiently fleshed out, and the whole “team assembly” sequence seemed a little rushed. But that alone is hardly enough to detract from sheer brilliance of this picture.

^Well it might be done on purpose…

bites tongue to avoid spoilers

Well they make it assume that she’s an architect when he goes to find one. Yet she knows a lot about the mind so I’m sure it’s not all basic information within 2 years.

Just saw it :)

Assuming the characters were projections the whole time, this may be true. But I don’t believe that.

^^What did you think?

I feel somewhat compelled to see it again.
