Incoming freshman, find out what residential college you're in!

Go Wilson!!

Rocky/Mathey bathrooms are in the basement. Butler was renovated, not Wilson; but they share the new dining hall. Wilson rooms vary (A LOT) depending on building. Bulter is really nice, they finally figured out that people want study spaces in their dorms

Wilson!!!

how are the dorms in wilson? where are the bathrooms situated?

I feel like Wilson is ugly, but I’m still very excited. Tomorrow, roommates! :D

For the preview weekend, I stayed in Mathey. My host’s dorm was in the second floor and there was a 2-stall, 2-shower bathroom right down the hall.

How about Forbes??

Floorplans for all of the Residential Colleges are available on-line:

Before Forbes was Forbes it was known as Princeton Inn College (PIC). I lived there during my freshman year at Princeton and just revisited during reunions this past May.

My opinion

The good - Many great rooms with Bathrooms (used to be a hotel). I love the hallway system as opposed to the entryway system in some other dorms. It allows students to meet many more fellow students, which is very important as a freshman. RA groups in Forbes tend to be very close. I still am in touch with many of my friends from my old RA group. Also, very close to the WaWa, the Graduate College and The Golf Course (great sledding in the winter).

The not so good - Furthest from the heart of the campus which can feel a bit isolating as a freshman when it is hard to get any access to “The Street”. As freshmen, my friends and I often found ourselves making runs to the Wa and spending Friday nights eating cookies and playing cards. However, I was told that with the new Whitman College, the heart of the campus has moved a bit toward Forbes, so it’s not as out of the way as it used to be. Still, I recommend a bicycle for getting around.

My son, who will be a freshman this fall was hoping to get placed into Forbes since he has heard so many tales of my freshman year exploits and miseries, but alas, he was put into Rocky.

soomoo, thanks for the info on Forbes. My son stayed there for Preview so he is a little familiar with it which is good. He said the walk really wasn’t too bad and from what I have read/heard so far it does seem like because they are a bit farther away the students do tend to make lasting friendships. Now he just needs to find out his roommate(s).

Any one placed in Whitman?

Is the internet connection same everywhere or are there certain rooms that suck

My daughter’s is in Whitman. This is nice because she stayed there during Princeton Preview. I thought it was great. I also thought that after seeing their dining room why would anyone want to join one of the eating clubs. I toured several and was unimpressed.

MATHEY!!!

Though from these message boards, it seems like not too many others are in it. Just me and christiansoldier and mrscollege’s daughter.

Mathey for me, too! So that makes four of us so far…

5 lol. im in mathey too

Whitman, anyone else in Whitman? And anyone receive their room assignments yet?
