Thank you for taking the time to chance me! I just received my SAT 2 score for WH today and that just completely made me feel hopeless. Wondering if my SAT 2s will have a large impact on my chances toward entering my dream colleges.

The secret of getting into an Ivy league isnt to tryhard. You still have a chance if you change in your junior year. Remember, Ivy leagues like to see differences. Also, you want to show leadership in a few clubs rather than having 1000000 different clubs.

Colleges know students who try extra hard just to impress them. Doing so will get you easily rejected.

Thanks a lot. I definitely plan to get a flawless report card next year, including my APs. SAT 2s… they’re a possibility, but I’m still iffy on them. I just seem to never do well on them, lol.

Does it seem like I’m being a tryhard with my application?
It seems like it’s so hard to get a leadership position, I’m sure you know that usually the majority of the student body votes go toward the more popular students.

**Forgot to mention I’m running for a treasurer and historian next year

Thanks so much for your feedback!

bump lalalalalalalala

Well you have a solid chance in a few of them… Good luck!

Thank you!

bump number two

bump number threeeee

All your schools are very high reaches. Be different, unique.

I’ll do this quickly and painlessly. You have no focus. Your ECs are everywhere in various categories and lack depth. Your SAT IIs are very weak for those schools. As is your GPA. Just because you participated in Siemens and Intel doesn’t mean anything. You have to be a semifinalist or higher. Take the Chinese SAT II. Where are you from in Asia? We can’t fully chance you with your SAT, but with what I am seeing here, none of those schools except NYU are possible. It just looks like you are trying too hard. Good volunteering though and can you post the grades you got at community college?

Thanks a lot for your criticism. I’ll definitely cut down on the ECs I’m less interested in and try to get leadership positions in the ones I’ll hang onto.

That’s what I’m most concerned about - my SAT 2s. I’m afraid that those ignominiously low scores will affect my overall chance at my dream colleges, which is why I posted my skeleton application, as a current 10th grader.

I haven’t participated yet, I am a participant in the 2013 and 2014 Siemens/INTEL Competitions, and I definitely plan to be a semifinalist+.
I don’t feel as if my Chinese level right now is equivalent to the level of the Chinese SAT 2, and I can’t find any review books for the SAT 2 either, making me pretty hesitant to take the test.
My grades from different prep schools average out to about a 96, and from community college a 92. Courses varied in different levels of Math and English.

If I get a flawless report card in my junior year (which I see is very possible, it’s just that my laziness gets the best of me sometimes), follow through with my science competition plans, and get at most 4 leadership positions, would that hopefully make my low SAT 2s less significant?
