So this fall I’m going to be a Senior and eventually start applying for college. The major I chose was Software Engineering because math was always one of my favorite subjects and since I’m always on the computer all the time, I might as well make use of it right?
Well my problem is that most colleges where I live (California) are either too far (parents don’t want me to dorm for my first 2 years of college; it doesn’t really bother me) or they don’t offer the Software Engineering major. The only colleges I’ve found that fits my circumstances are p: Cal State Fullerton (Online course for Masters Degree) and Cal Baptist Uni. I want to have more options in cases don’t happen to get admitted into those colleges but it’s hard.
Now my question is, how similar is Computer Science to Software Engineering? I see colleges near me offering a Computer Science major and I was thinking doing that instead and once Ii graduate just look for a job that deals with software coding and all that.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, hopefully I can get some feedback because summer is about to end and I don’t want to go into Senior without any list colleges I want to apply to.
