Let me make sure I get this. So at UCSD you can take Calc 10/20 A,B,C, but if you went to a school on the semester system like SDSU you would just take two Calc classes, but they would contain more information?

^No. Each semester would contain would contain a quarter and a half of material so it all comes out the same at the end.

Thanks everyone, that makes a lot more sense.

I have another question. Is class planner accurate. Every time I try to plan my classes there’s only ever 1 teacher and one class but the class is held n 3 different locations and there are no seats available but no one is enrolled. ???

um, what class is this and what are you trying to use it for? (GE/major/etc)

@astrinag
All most all the classes I have looked at as possible GE’s and one class for my major has said this. It seems like all of the classes are full. For example MMW1 is said to be full which makes no sense because only freshman take it and we have not registered for classes yet.

^They’ll open spots up for a lot of classes for freshmen.

As an incoming muir student, I was wondering what are the chances of getting the roommate request to get through? I feel hesitant about the people that i requested to be roomies with… is it too late to cancel it?

Also, are there stoves available in the dorms?

if you request roommates you’re almost guaranteed to room with them (give that y’all requested each other).

no stoves in tenaya & tioga.
make friends with someone in the apartments and use theirs;)

Is it possible that I won’t get into MMW1 even though it is a required class.

^You’ll get in to MMW1

if I have a discussion from 6-6:50, but i want to enroll in a theatre class from 6:00-8:50 PM on the same day, is it advisable to do this?

from what my prof said, discussions are optional and i can attend other discussions on other days. the only problem is that webreg will notice a course conflict.

besides this, is there any complications to this? will I get full credit for my courses and whatnot?

Any input is appreciated

if your prof says it’s fine, then it’s fine.

how would anyone know you didn’t go to the discussion? full credits (i assume you mean in the units for the class) are given as long as you get a passing grade.
