Hey guys... So, I'm in APES this year, and we've had a bit of an issue with teachers. Our original instructor left on disability in October, supposedly for a month. We had an awesome sub who used to teach the course for a couple weeks until November. Then we didn't have a teacher until December (we basically watched "An Inconvenient Truth" for a month). We finally got a permanent instructor in December, but she, um, knows nothing about APES. My school hired her because she has a Ph D in chem. Unfortunately, that doesn't help us when she's trying to learn the material along with us- and this learning process is even even further impaired by the fact that English is her second language. She has literally taught us incorrect concepts. (example: "ecofeminism means that women are more sensitive and therefore care more about the environment than men"- totally not what that is at ALL)
We're definitely not going to finish our textbook, and I feel like I've learned nothing this year. Now I have the AP in a couple weeks, and I'm terrified of failing... I considered canceling the exam, but my college counselor says that it'll look bad on my college apps if I take a yearlong AP course and then don't take the test.
Any advice?

My sister took AP classes and never took an AP test and she got into Cal. Barrons book, read every word.

In that case, this thread might help you

Just use a good prep book to learn material faster. For example, I’ve heard 5 Steps to a 5 is good for APES.

Get a good review book and read it in detail. Gauge your abilities with the practice exams. With what little time is left, those are really your only options. You probably know more than you think you do, if you have been making an honest effort to keep up while the teaching has been slack. I ran into the same problem this year with AP Statistics, but I have been working on it by myself and I’m now pretty successful at it. I believe you can pass the APES exam if you really study hard from now until the test.

As the others have said, find a good review book, and start reading. This will help you find a good one: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/201793-consolidated-book-suggestions-ap-58.html#post1063224009

LightSource- Where did you hear that?

only one thing to do now: cram.

take a good book like smartpants or PR and completely devour it. And in a sticky post the creator oasis talked about how easy envi sci is to self study. I just finished, and I have to say the same thing. Just cram this week and next and you’ll at least get a 3. It’s way too easy to not pass…
