Who else is taking the exam this year?

Fml, it's my teacher's first year teaching the course and all we do is watch Planet Earth. Nobody in my class has any idea what material is on the test, we have been "reviewing" by highlighting a review book for like 2 weeks, still on chapter 3. I am thinking about not taking it.

I’m taking four APs, and although I went into APES thinking that it would be my easy course, it has turned out to be the GPA killer.

I’ve decided to not even try because Enviro has one of the lowest pass rates, and my teacher isn’t very good either.

This course also covers an absurd amount of topics.

Haha, that wasn’t at all helpful.

I self studied, and thought i was doing well, but now im nervous… why does it have the lowest pass rate!?! is it extremely difficult???

It’s not extremely difficult if you know the material. The reason the pass-rate is so low is because all these freshmen take it without studying thinking they know everything having just got out of Earth Science. Unfortunately for them, they encounter a rude awakening.

I’m pretty worried about APES too. I got an A last semester, and I’m currently carrying a B+. I’d say I know the material pretty well. I’m scoring between a 3 and a 4 on the multiple choice, but I’m afraid the FRQs will be killer- especially if we have to design a lab in one.

i self studied for like almost 2 months now, and it’s pretty easy.
FRQ mostly deals with cause/effects of problems… and the MC is not too bad either.
i just need a 4 :)

definitely taking

Is it just universal that APES teachers suck A$$? My teacher admitted to us that she has no clue what she is doing teaching…people actually expect me to pass with a teacher like that???

lol, my AP teacher is quite good. He also teaches AP Bio.

I don’t really even feel like trying for this since I won’t get any credit for doing well on this at the college I’m planning on going to. =/ But I love my teacher and I don’t want to disappoint him or ruin his rep by not doing well.

^Haha. I also have a first year teacher… I’d be happy with a 3.

My school is offering APES next year, and the teacher teaches earth science, and has never taught any AP or honors classes. At my school earth science is for the kids who failed regular biology, so she was chosen on the basis of that.
