Inconsistent extracurriculars?

<p>So the violin is probably one of my biggest ECs. I am in several orchestras, but I screwed up an audition.</p>

<p>It's for a regional orchestra-- I practiced all year for the past three years and made it 10th grade, but not 9/11 grade.</p>

<p>Will colleges look down upon the fact that I did not make it those two years? I'm asking because I put TONS of effort into practicing every year, and the years I didn't make it I only missed out by 1 spot or a couple of points.</p>

<p>You’re seriously overthinking this. Unless you plan on majoring in music performance, what you’ve described is a single unmemorable sentence in your eventual application – that’s it.</p>
