Incorrect income on CSS Profile - what should I do?

I completed and submitted the CSS Profile in January before I got my W-2 forms. I thought I had my income correct but after getting my W-2s I discovered I was about $200 off (probably added income after taxes instead of before taxes). I applied to 10 schools and some of them are requiring me to send in my W-2s anyway, does it look bad if it doesn’t match up? Should I contact all of them to correct it?

Send in the W2s that they requested. $200 is nothing. They’ll make the adjustments.

It won’t look bad. Mistakes get made (and $200 is really minor). You will have to correct the Profile but each school may handle it differently. Some may want a pen and ink change to a Profile copy, some will want copies of your tax information and will make their own changes, some will rely on the DRT transaction with the IRS. You’ll need to call each school to find out how they want to see the change.

Thanks for the advice!
