increase in room and board for fall

<p>fyi--this was in the news today. Regents approved a 4.9% increase. A double will not cost $8599.</p>

<p>that's still cheaper than many other schools, not to mention that Michigan doesn't require you to live in dorms all 4 years, so after the first year, you can move out into an apartment after freshman year with your friends.</p>

<p>I wonder how much more it will be for the 2009-2010 year ahh. Everything just keeps getting more expensive everywhere!! The economy sucksss</p>

<p>FYI, living off campus in an apartment isn't much cheaper.</p>

<p>And you still have to pay a $2000 housing fee as I recall.</p>

<p>umich doesn't require you to ever live on campus... why would they (how would they) charge you 2 grand for living off campus?</p>
