I was talking to my GC and she recommended that I call up the school that I'm most interested in and ask them if I could schedule a meeting/speak with an admissions representative or head of a department. For some reason, I find this to be an overwhelming task, because I don't know what to say to them. My GC told me to express how much I admire the school and to name a few things I've noticed about it that's subtle, but grabbed my attention so they are impressed by the fact that I actually did my research and am interested. As well, she said that I should brag about the EC's I've done. I'm not sure how much this will hurt/help me. What I'm worried about..is wasting their time. I don't want them to be thinking "Not another one of these". But then again I don't know how it works - has anyone done this before and how did it go? What questions did you ask the rep and did it give you an upper hand when admissions time came around?
