Increasing from a terrible score

when i say terrible, I mean it. My score was only in the 1500s, so you guys have any tips I can really do during this summer? I really want to shine and do good on my next exam in october.

I would recommend getting some books and studying maybe for like an hour a day over the summer. Reading is a big part, a lot of people have been telling me to read the economist and it seems like if i wasn’t good at the verbal section, it would be a big help for me

Get the collegeboard blue book for the SAT and do the practice tests and go over the explanations for wrong answers.

Yeah I read a few topics below and I was planning to read The Economist as well. I own the blue collegeboard book, but I haven’t really used it much. I will though, during this summer.

Depends on how much time you have. My score increased by about 210 points just because I matured during my junior year. Other than that, just keep chugging along and practicing. Keep in mind you just might not be a great test taker, and in that case no amount of practice will help unless you fix whatever is preventing you from being good at standardized tests.

1500 is the national average.

But it is low at most colleges.

I went from 1510 to a 1810 (300 points) by working with a tutor through the CB blue book. We would go through each practice test together and he would explain anything I did not understand.

Mind I still consider my 1810 low but I am not sure if I can get it higher.
