I take classes at a community college, and a teacher offers independent studies on certain works of literature by a certain Russian author. I've expressed interest in doing one, and he seemed to really want to do one with me, and I'm currently trying to decide whether to do it or not. Among many other factors (I repeat, many) I was wondering how it would look to colleges. Would they care/would it look good or would it just be looked on as like another class?

Basically, it would be a semester long in-depth study of a book that's considered a masterpiece of Russian Lit. I actually want to major in Russian Language and Literature, so it fits in nicely.

And just a disclaimer, I will not base my decision on this at all. If I want to do it, I'll do it even if it doesn't matter to colleges at all. I won't say whether it does or not won't factor into my opinion, but it would never be the sole reason. I love the subject and am just curious about how it looks. It won't be the deciding factor. =)
