So, I will mostly be taking upper divisions at UCD. I have a total of about 90 units I need to complete in order to graduate with my CSE degree. Anybody know if I can independently study the rest of my units in the whole school year from beginning of Fall 2015 to Spring 2016 as long as I have gotten good grades in the previous semester, and still get my degree? I really want to do this, I don’t care if it’s too hard. I know I am ready for this if this can be done.
What exactly do you mean by independently studying?
If you mean self-studying the material from the required classes so you don’t have to take them, as far as I’m aware the CS department doesn’t generally allow that. http://www.cs.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/faqs
If you mean taking ECS 192 or 199 to fulfill elective requirements, you’re only allowed a maximum of 5 units towards your CS(E) major for either of them: http://www.cs.ucdavis.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Course-Descriptions-of-Computer-Science-and-Engineering-CSE-Major-Requirements-2014-2015.pdf
If you don’t mean either of those, it depends on what you mean. I’ve never heard of someone doing something like that before (CS major).
