Wow. I’m from Kolkata too. So is Funky. The East rocks!

CC seems full of people from kolkata… Wow! nice to be here!.. Go,kol all the way… Btw, I just wrote an essay on our lovely bandhs…Anyone else doing anything like this???

Wrong question. Does not need to be asked either.

^^ Haha… Nice. Well I did one. But it was more of a national issue than Calcutta. BTW anyone here can tell me how to reach Lansdowne Road from PArk street?

Google maps …

Thanks but google map does not show the Bus numbers! IF anyone knows here.
I am confused with A517, 5.17, 51.7… and what not!

Haha…a true calcutta resident speaking… @Phoenix… take a cab!
Where do you want to go in landsdowne btw? will give you the bus numbers in a jiffy… park street which side are you talking of and where exactly??

@rsaxena… Well, if you were a calcuttan you would understand that every other person is so damn frustated with those that they can be vented anywhere…
I need to ask…coz just today I heard some of my classmates too were pursuing similar topics… I wanted to know if such city-centric ideas are actually done or not!

Did anyone apply to Yale?

1 I guess …

I hate bandhs. I agree with desperado. That week was ridiculous when we had bandh for 6 consecutive days. Yikes. :(

My essay is not on bandhs. You should write if you feel you can. TETRiSFAN (Brown '14) wrote about Kolkata and bandh was one of the contents.

BTW anyone here can tell me how to reach Lansdowne Road from PArk street?
My school is in Lansdowne. :)

Instead of getting confused with buses, why don’t you try mini-buses.

Bus - 212

Mini-bus - Gariahat to Howrah (107/1). Caution: Don’t go for 107, go for 107/1

Mini-bus - Satyabala to Kasba

Hope that helps. :)

Park Street to Landsdowne (I guess I’m late but anyway) -
Go down Park Street past Trincas, Flury’s and McDonalds, in that order, so that McDonalds is on your left.
When you see Assembly of God Church (The SAT center :D) on your left, take a right into Rawdon Street. Tea Junction should be at the corner.
Go down Rawdon until you hit A.J.C Bose (under the flyover).
Take a right onto AJC and travel down that road past Minto Park.
You should see a rather wide road to your left. Voila! Landsdowne. :D

Note: I’m uncannily bored. Can’t you tell?

^ That was the best explanation. You made me visualize everything so clearly. :)

Hey funky or nbagga or anyone else here i was wondering if either one of you could go through my Cornell supplement and give me a few suggestions???

Sure. PM me.

Trincas, Flurys, Mac… its been ages since I’ve gone out…with all of these applis and school blockin my time… wish I was at Flurys right now… butter scone, muffins and that christmas cake…

@PhoenixR… do visit flurys before christmas, if you’re comin to cal, it’ll be an experience!

Its funny how last year CC was overflowing with Delhi-ites, and this year, its Kolkata thats taking the lead here! LOL

^ I know right? :P

I’m sure gonna be at Flury’s sometime this Christmas.
We can’t forget Olypub.
Go Cal! :D
