harry, congrats!!! I am also very happy. :D

OMG OMG Wow, PrincetonDreams got into Stanford.

WannabePrince - I feel sorry for you. I know how it feels.

@Wannabe, Bagga -
Yeah, WannabePrince is right. Those who got e-mails will not be getting Financial Aid. Today itself, the official letter from Fedex came in stating more or less the same. I did send them an appeal, with no reply yet. I’ll probably get my father to call them soon enough.

Fortunately for me, although the aid would be nice, I can juust about manage without it. My EFC is 35000 but that can be stretched. Given the limited aid at Cornell, others deserve it much more than myself anyway.

Wannabe, my luck rests with you. I hear Cornell is very stingy with aid and very stubborn with appeals. I hope everything works out for you, though.

Bagga, you have been granted aid for sure. When you receive your airmail, which you should in a couple of days, you’ll know. Please keep us informed. I sincerely hope the aid offered meets your needs.

I hope everything works out for the two of you. Hope I’ll see you guys at Cornell’s Sesquicentennial.

Congrats to everybody who got in! This is just awesome!

^^^You too I think.
Cryptic is you.

Hey congratulations to all! I see a lot of people got into Cornell. Awesome!

I am still waiting for mine, but till then does anyone know how difficult carleton is to get into for an intl Indian ? I see a couple of people applied there, and I will be applying there too, but I can’t seem to gauge how difficult it is to get into.

Also, best of luck everyone else.

thanks funky, i’ll surely keep u informed :)

@goodwood8
I’m contemplating applying to Carleton as well. I’ve heard that its pretty difficult for us, Indians, to get in. They don’t have a very large percentage of international students :/

ronnghosh-I’m applying to Carleton! My English teacher (who’s written one of my LORs) went there. I’m hoping that miiight tip it a tiny bit in my favor?
Congrats to everyone who got into Cornell and Caltech! Why is everyone saying Cornell is really stingy with aid? I thought they had that whole Tata Scholarship fund and everything?

@ronnghosh: Dint see you replied here, i pmed you with the same question. Well, if they take less intl students then that sucks. They have a good acceptance rate though… but if they’re going to accept less Indians then its going to make it as difficult as any ‘ivy’ type college.

@arunemo: Oh that’s great! Any clue on how easy/difficult it is to get in ?

@arunemo - They do, but I’m not quite sure how that works. I know for a fact that they give financial aid to about a quarter of the international students they accept and that their average aid is puny compared to say Princeton or Harvard. Maybe they want to wait for RD to take a look at the entire applicant pool. I’m just clutching at straws here though.

The TATA scholarship is for around 20 Indian nationals counting not just one class but all four classes attending. Cornell is okay with aid: I don’t know anyone going without any. As long as you can stand the weather, apply away!

Ratan Tata gifted 50 million bucks this year !!.
They ought to give aid to Indians.

Deferred from Brown =(

Got the aid guys, 95 % have to pay 3000$ a year only so its surely CORNELL yeeeeeh

nbagga - O Teri! Balle Balle! Congratulations man! :)

Wow. Fell so happy for you guys. Congrats to all accepted and “Well tried. And donn’t lose hope” to the others. I’m from Durgapur (if you have heard of it) umm like 180km from Kol.
Never mind.
Awesome of you guys to get into Cornell and CalTech! All the best
