even like the present congress party, that selected the esteemed and sophisticate Laloo prasad yadav as railway minister

Politics, especially at the central government level, is a lot more complicated than that, surya. You believe she could have refused him the seat? Congress couldn't even have made a government without Laloo or the CPM and other parties' support. Now that the congress managed to get in power, you should look closely at how she is managing the situation. They have successfully sidelined the leftist parties and is now fielding to sideline laloo's RJD in Bihar in the current polls. Sonia knows if their wings need to be clipped now.

but thats why mahajan was demoted, and other clean ones promoted...no doubt mahajan was corrupt, but BJP made it a WAS - of the past.

sorry adides, but i'm completely disillusioned with BJP and it's RSS- hindutva leanings

prashant...i know politics aint that simple. I knew he HAD to become something because of RJD's support for congress. but my point is Congress has got some corrupt supporters, and BJP less corrupt ones. Look at Naveen Patnaik of Orissa - mr clean and mr. effective

and with Mayawati and "Amma" swinging like pendulums, it can safely be said BJP has some cleaner support than Congress. look at political affiliations and the parties that supported NDA.

"sorry adides, but i'm completely disillusioned with BJP and it's RSS- hindutva leanings"

so am I. fck coz of bjp i have been kind of banned from guj...i dont even want to go there...so lets just leave this topic alone...

btw. who wants to have a 70 lakh b-day bash like Mayawati? I do...at HER expense :D

tomorrow is the anniversary for godhra, and i will email you all a nice political gift from me. so until then...i am going back to my books...

eagerly looking forward...probably some article or pic bashing modi or as evidence against him , right adi?

Oh you want to talk about corrupt politicians? Tehelka? George Fernandes? :p
Hehe like adides said, leave this topic alone for now. I've had more than my share of politics today (poll results).

You've been banned from Guj adi??? Jesus!

Yeah send the nice political gift around a little more...I tried to circulate it but my friends are either very pro BJP or very apathetic when it comes to politics or just too bloody lazy to download files...depressing :(

yeah let the topic RIP- I've had enough political talk for a month atleast...

Oh btw i didnt go to a catholic institution, i went to a protestant one :p

sp, I'm not trying to prove that Congress is better than BJP...what i'm saying is that both parties are equally corupt/pretentious/dynastic/ineffective etc and therein lies the irony of Indian politics

 so whom do you/would you vote for?

couldnt agree with you more ritz...but I would say that I am more anti BJP coz the horror of the gujarat riots hasnt receded as yet for me.

"You've been banned from Guj adi??? Jesus!"
well, u saw the 'gift'...u shouldn't be surprised...had 120,000 hard copy of that gift distributed before the election...

"so whom do you/would you vote for?"
Me?? :D

talking of politics, wheres our friendly RSS fascist???

yeah adi I'll definitely vote for you :D

pv, on one hand I can't stand the nehru family, on the other, BJP has let me down. I'm glad I'm not 18 yet.
Don't you think that laloo detractors(including me) are being too hasty in proclaiming his downfall...this election has not been a victory for him but the problem is that it has'nt been a defeat either.
