Indiana Class of 2013

ElizaB - great J school and especially so for print journalism - it's a small college within a big school. You won't regret it.
(I'm a J school alum)

Accepted! :)
3.97 GPA
1320 SAT

i'm in at kelley. 32 ACT, 2300 SAT (1520/1600)

Wow--a lot of great GPAs (4.45 W, 4.01, 4.0, 3.97 and 3.9 from those listing here) and great test scores (1520/1600 and 2300/2400!!! for Hlover particularly stands out.)

Congratulations to everyone on your acceptances to IU-B.

P.S. Like SolidSnake951, I'm kind of curious if people know yet whether IU-B is their first choice, second choice, third or later choice--or even their safety. Anyone (besides ElizaB, who has already said it's her second choice) care to comment on that?

Also, I notice a lot of people have qualified for the automatic scholarships--which I'm sure will come in handy during this time of financial uncertainty. As a parent, let me congratulate you on your smart decision in getting your applications in early--and in doing well enough academically to qualify for these awards.

Daughter received admission email today.
ACT 26
Sat 1800
GPA 92.8/100-unweighted
Does not rank but approx-top 10%
Out of State-large public school
Probably 3rd or fourth choice but would be happy to attend in lieu of SUNY.

thanks calcruzer!
initially i applied to IU as a safety school. i applied early to Yale, and plan to apply to Brown, Amherst and similar schools.
BUT - now i really like IU. i've been researching more, and i applied for a few selective scholarships.

If i get in to Yale (and similar schools) which is highly unlikely given their less than 10% admittance rates - IU is my first choice, over UW Madison, Iowa State, and University of Vermont.

Money is big factor for me so middle tier private schools (most of which have limited aid)are sort of out for me. IU does a great job with merit based aid, so - to make a long post short - IU is a top contender for me.

I thought that it was nice Indiana Bloomington sent me a scarf in the mail today. :)
I've gotta say that they have been really helpful throughout the admissions process- in terms of answering my e-mails promptly and getting back to me.

yeah what was up with the scarf? lol.
so if you get accepted, do you assume you've been accepted to kelley (if you applied that way) or do you have to wait for a kelley letter?

wait for kelley letter, i got mine a few weeks after the iu acceptance packet

i got the scarf but not the kelley admit letter yet..

i just opened my scarf package too haha its kind of strange, but i feel loved, so its alright.

do you guys recommend a visit? i really love the east-coasty, old buildings, green quad feel. i saw the campus tour on the IU website, but any personal opinions of the campus would be nice.

I think I'm probably make a visit, even though I basically have my heart set on UIUC. Hoping for good results next Friday. Arrr.

I haven't gotten my Kelley admit packet yet either, but the scarf was mailed to me in the time span of 2 days. I hope I get it soon.

By the way. When is the full-ride scholarship application due?

Ah crap. I missed the deadline. >_<

i got a scarf today. but still nothing from Kelley, does anyone know how long it takes to hear fro Kelley once you have been accepted to IU?

Accepted!

4.0 GPA
1980 SAT

class2009,

Once you get your IU acceptance, it is usually anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before you will hear from Kelley on your acceptance or rejection as a direct admit there.

i got a call and e-mail today from a director of admissions today that said that i got into Kelly and Hutton Honors college. I thought it was weird that they called.

Congratulations on your acceptance to these two programs.

My understanding is they call those who get into Hutton Honors (and not those who only get into Kelley).

P.S. I see that you were accepted into IU-B back on November 19th, meaning that it was 2 weeks and 1 day until you heard about Kelley and Hutton.

My son got IU Distinction, acceptance to HHC and a scarf, but no call.

Accepted back in November 15th I believe. Just got my Kelley DA two days ago (4.0 UW 29 ACT). Took the SAT yesterday and taking the retaking the ACT this weekend to hopefully bump me up from the $5000 to $9000 dollar scholarship. Might petition for Honors but probably wont get around to it.

I didnt get a phone call or a scarf :( is that only for in staters?
