I am a junior in high school, and I am really interested in attending Indiana University (JSoM for music performance). However, the academic requirements state that I need to have "7 credits (semesters) of mathematics, including 4 credits of algebra and 2 credits of geometry (or an equivalent 6 credits of integrated algebra and geometry) and 1 credit of pre-calculus, trigonometry, or calculus". At the end of this year, I will have completed Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Next year, rather than taking trig for a semester and elementary functions for a semester, I want to take Statistics because I really do not want trig to bring down my 3.7 GPA and the AP exam can be taken in Stats, AND it's an honors class at my school. Do you think that Indiana would be alright if Trig wasn't on my transcript? Thanks!

That is one where the reliable answer can come only from the college. It cannot be answered based on prior history because until this year, IU required only 6 credits of math not 7, i.e., that trig, pre-calc, or calc one-semester requirement is a new one.
