So I really really want to go to IU but my grades and scores are not exactly the best… I have a 3.2 gpa and a 22 act with a ton of extra curriculars. I am an out of state resident but I am from one of the best high schools in Michigan. Do I have a good chance at getting accepted? Please help thank you!
google “IU Common Data Set” – look at section C9 and compare yourself with other admitted students.
You can do this for any college, BTW – like Boulder.
Also you need to curb 90% or 100% of your ECs. They’re seriously hurting you and your college prospects. Time to hit the books – not participate in ECs. Now you’ve limited yourself to schools that only admit high nos. of kids and these are the sorts that don’t weigh ECs at all.
I think you have an okay chance at getting accepted. If you can, I highly recommend taking the ACT again to try to boost your score. I just got accepted with a 3.25 - I had a 1.8 Freshman year but had a strong excuse and raised it to a 3.8 the next year - so if you have an upward trend you should be fine. Are you taking any AP classes? That could help you a lot too!
