Hi all,
I got my admissions to IU a few weeks ago (WHOO) and I got my Dean’s Scholarship yesterday. I was wondering if anyone who is in the Ernie Pyle Honours Programme or who applied and got rejected could give me an idea of what it’s like, and what your stats were for getting in. I’d like to compare my stats! I’ve searched far and wide and I’ve looked at The Media School’s website, but I’d like to hear from some actual students. Thanks a ton!
Just graduated from IU last year and was an Ernie Pyle Scholar. My group wasn’t the greatest just because my mento wasn’t super great, but there are a lot of great mentors so hopefully you’ll get lucky! You get to go to Chicago your freshman year and see different media outlets which is fun and the Summer in London program is pretty sweet in between your sophomore and junior year. Your core classes are also smaller which is nice if your entire group is cool. I was valedictorian of my high school class, 4.0 GPA, 30 ACT, a member/officer of about 12 different clubs/activities, and was sports editor for my school newspaper. You’re definitely at an advantage being an EPS over a regular student.
