Hey All,

Just a quick question. Has any incoming freshman who applied for the School of Journalism Honors program and scholarship on Feb. 1 found out yet? Just wondering if anybody knows.

Hey All,

Just a quick question. Has any incoming freshman who applied for the School of Journalism Honors program and scholarship on Feb. 1 found out yet? Just wondering if anybody knows.

Just wanted to bump this up to the top. The application said that students would be notified by May 1, on a rolling type of admission. Has anyone heard anything yet?

Does anyone know from previous years what the range might be for scholarship awards? Can you receive a scholarship award but not be an Ernie Pyle Scholar? Or vice versa?

Sorry, but don't know anything about this--hopefully others will.

Generally if they say they will notify by May 1st, then you are unlikely to hear much until they are pretty close to that date. Sometime finalists are asked to submit additional information--that's about it.

Good luck.

rejected from Ernie Pyle honors proggram for journalism. letter said that they had 115 applicants for 22 spots.

oh well.

I got accepted!

they also gave me a $1000 scholarship, which will help for the OOS tuition I'll be paying.

edit
Runfast, I'm sorry you didn't get accepted. I'm pretty sure you can re-apply at the end of freshman year if you'd like.

I got accepted as an Ernie Pyle Scholar and received $1000 scholarship as well (was notified a couple of weeks ago)

I was super excited until last night when I got rejected by the university division (???) It just doesn't make sense? I am an international applicant though.. don't know if that matters but yeah... it sucks. I want to go so bad!

It's not like my resume was bad either. straight A's, exchange year, active in sports etc. The School of Journalism also said that admission to the university shouldn't be a problem. mixed signals I guess... and it's confusing the heck out of me!
