Lehigh has a pretty reputable engineering school. If you have been admitted into their CSB program, you should probably go there since you are not a Kelley DA. If you are not a DA to CSB either, you need to figure out how difficult to get into the program you like.

Make sure that you are interested in and comfortable with math and computer programming. The CSB program is pretty heavy in those two disciplines. It has a little flavor of “business”. On the other hand, Kelley is the traditional business schools which is heavy in accounting, finance, marketing, operation research, etc. It is a little of apples and oranges. Nonetheless, Lehigh also has the business and econ program. That may be more traditional. If you are still interested in Kelley after your review, check out the strategies of getting into Kelley through standard admissions below. It should not be too difficult to get into Kelley if you follow the roadmap.

Thanks for the detailed response ace550! I dont mind doing a less “business oriented” undergrad major as I always have the opportunity to do an MBA in the future.

I was also wondering about double majors within IU. For example, would it be possible to do a double major in computer science and finance?

Well, being a cheap skate, I would choose IU, even for computer science. That saves you precisely $60,000 over four years. In other words, you could go to IU for five years for less money that four years at Lehigh. If money is no problem, then you have to set your own priorities.

Just remember, IU-Kelley is a generally better business school than Lehigh’s. Kelley has especially good teachers. Bloomington is a great town, by the way.
