Indicate any special talents or skills essay?

Can anyone give me some ideas about what they put? The only thing I can think of is that I am First Horn in my school orchestra and I can play the instrument very well.

Thanks.

I put my love of learning and the fact that I'd probably be a 72 year old grandma still going to school to learn a new language or craft.

I put stuff like wiggling my ears, being able to recite the Greek alphabet, being able to pronounce Middle English, etc.

Are they looking for some obscure talent or something more general (like music, etc.) that you're good at?

Well I figured that some of the talents I could have put (like music, writing, etc.) weren't special or specific to me, so I put ones that other people probably wouldn't have, thus making me special. ;)

Plus, the superficial talents are readily available in your ECs, most of the time. If you're an extraordinary writer and are the #1 contributor to a literary magazine, why repeat yourself?

This section is a great opportunity to be a little less serious...be creative!

Are we suppose to write our responses in paragraph format? I did mine in a bulleted list. :O

I did mine in sentence format, and each one said something completely different. It worked for me :-)

I have NO clue what to say for that prompt. I've just been staring at it for the last hour.

anything quirky about yourself? or some special talent? (like twisting your tongue in the shape of a 3 leaf clover--I know, I have a gift)

LOL, well now that you mention it, I recently went to Ripley's and learned that you are 1 in 1000 if you can twist your tongue completely upside down. I can do that. But that's all I can think of. I'm not particularly great at any one thing, at least not enough to call it a "talent."

you can refer to some ordinary thing as if it's amazing (Ex. I can crack my knuckles in 5/4 time.)

Is that really what they are looking for? I thought you had to present more serious talents instead.

I wrote it... I introduced with some funny talents (curl tounge, drink a large 7/11 slurpee in less than a minute, put my head under my leg... ect) and then onto some more serious talents, such has my ability to play the French Horn very well.

yeah, it's good to juxtapose serious w/ creative/quirky

Thanks a lot, I just finished it. Off to mail it tomorrow on the dealine of course. I should have put procrastination as one of my talents; I do it better than anyone else I know!

I'm a better procrastinator than you. I still have to do essay #2. Poo.

Lol.. I sent mine off. Unless I wanted to go to NYC, all the post offices are closed right now.

Public speaking, desktop publishing, and knowing how to use spreadsheets. Nothing spectacular like playing an instrument.
