I am considering going to a state university with an industrial engineering program that is relatively new (7 years old) and not yet accredited by ABET. How important is that accrediation and will have a significant impact on me getting a job out of school?

I don’t know. ABET accreditation sure is important. Some employers, but not all, will look for it and it is required in order to get a PE license, although I’m not sure why an industrial engineer would ever need a PE license.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It’s doubtful that it will preclude you from like 97% of engineering jobs out there considering the field of study. On the other hand, if it was civil engineering…

Why do you keep posting in your own thread? ABET accreditation for IE is not really that important as there are very few IE jobs that require a license.
