I have heard that industrial engineering is something of a blend of business and engineering, applying engineering principles to solve various business problems. IE majors are supposedly more marketable than some other business majors (would love to know if that's true). I see that not many schools offer IE major. What other majors might be comparable (i.e. operations management, financial engineering, etc.)?

IE is a true engineering degree. Its curriculum lends itself to several typical business jobs. Business majors that can lead to employment in fields in which IE competes include operations management and supply chain Management.
