Accepted Duke, Waitlisted Rice.

My friend: Waitlisted at U of C and Northwestern, accepted by Carnegie Mellon, WashU, Tufts, and the Cooper Union...

I was accepted by WashU and CMU, rejected by Cornell and UMich, waitlisted by RPI and Lehigh (LOL)

and wow, zappanfan, I had the same assortment.. washu, tufts, cooper union, and cmu

I have a friend who was rejected or waitlisted by 10/12 schools (still waiting to hear from Williams where he was deferred ED). Here's what happened:

Oberlin (rejection), Colby (waitlist), Carleton (waitlist), Swarthmore (rejection), Stanford (rejection), Grinnell (waitlist), Middlebury (waitlist), Macalester (waitlist), Yale (rejection), and Dartmouth (rejection).

Yesterday he found out he got into Princeton. With a full ride.

star_girl, you can't get any more arbitrary than that. I think you've just won the thread.

I'm having a very hard time buying this one, unless there is more info we are missing.

I'm thinking there had to be a major hook at Princeton for them to take someone that was waitlisted at Colby.

Nope, no hook. A lot of the waitlists were probably because he's an international seeking lots of aid, but Princeton isn't need blind for internationals either.

Oops, Princeton is need blind for internationals. Anyway...it's still pretty crazy.

Our kid was waitlisted by Duke, rejected by Stanford and Princeton -- and accepted at Harvard.

waitlisted and Wesleyan and Vassar, 15K scholarship to Oberlin.

I opened my Oberlin essay with "I promise I am not boring." That must be it.

Is the friend a Princeton legacy?

Nope. Just insanely lucky I guess. haha

Okay, star_girl still won. You've made this one grateful thread, yo.

Waitlisted TULANE

I'm laughing so hard right now. This is ridiculous.

Accepted to Tufts and BC, waitlisted at BU
