By the end of this year it looks as if I will have ~30 credits to Umich as I enter in fall 2008. Technically that is a year's worth of credit. I understand that AP credits cannot replace requirements etc, but i was curious as to what the benefits of accumulating these AP credits are. Will it allow me to take a lighter workload? Would it make it easier to graduate in three years? Easier to double major?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks in advance.

yes they can. I got almost all my engineering requirements other than engin 100 and 101 out of the way

Other than the first semester when you will be signing up for classes at your orientation, you will get priority (an earlier date) over your classmates because you will technically be a year ahead. This priority can help you enroll in classes or sections that fill up quickly.
