To what extent can coaches influence the admittance of athletes to Johns Hopkins undergraduate (non-engineering) programs? Does anyone know?

i believe the general rule is that Lax has a lot of influence, all the other coaches they may have some input but it wont get a bad student in. I don't really know im just an admit, but as with all universities and colleges the more influential the person speaking out on your behalf, the more potent his/her support will be

Thanks abrandel05. I had forgotten that JHU is Division 1 for lacross but Division III for other sports. I was wondering how JHU could field a viable football team given the different skills and sizes required to play many different positions. If all is left to randomness, JHU could end up with 20 giant smart offensive linemen but no capable quarterback to defend. Without coaches input based on game films, etc., how could admissions staff distinguish between a kid who was on the high school football team (a large group of people) and one who is good enough to play Division III football (a select group of people).

I know that there's a guy from my school who plays football at JHU. I really don't know what his stats were, but I do know that he definitely met with coaches and such. In short, it never hurts to try. I contacted the fencing coach, but he essentially told me that we'd talk once I got in.
