<p>i'm doing the commonapp essay of describing a character in fiction that has had an influence on you.</p>
<p>i have the character picked out and its from a poem (is that ok?), but i don't really know where to start at all.</p>
<p>can anyone help me?</p>
<p>maybe start with a situation the character was in that shows an inspiring trait</p>
<p>just some help, im not the exceptionial writer though that you may want help from</p>
<p>the character i chose isn't really in any situations.. its difficult to explain but the character does one just one thing. and that thing has a profound effect that everyone else is able to see.</p>
<p>maybe i should just pick something else but it took me forever to even think of this one.</p>

<p>You could try talking about what happened when you were reading the poem and what you thought when you found out about the character. Like a flashback to when you read the poem and retracing your thoughts.</p>
