Info On Pharmacy

Hi! I'm a senior in high school right now applying to colleges. I have an interest in pharmacy but I'd like to get as much info on it as possible. If I were to pursure pharmacy, I would most likely find a college with a 6 year pharmacy program (and from my research I haven't seen that many that I really like). This is what worries me because I feel if I do take the 6 year program and end up not liking pharmacy, I'd be stuck in a college where I'd be content if I was still in pharmacy, but not so happy with if I don't do pharmacy. If possible, can anyone please give me a run down/what to expect if I do decide to go through with pharmacy! This dilemma is definitely delaying my college admissions.

At this point, if you’re talking about direct entry 6 year programs, you’ve probably already missed the deadline for most of them. And even if you’ve applied to direct entry schools, most of them have other majors you can change into. On the other hand, you can go to any school and take your pharmacy pre-reqs and then apply to pharmacy school. If you decide pharmacy isn’t for you, then you still would have other options at that school. In terms of what to expect- what are you wanting to know? School-wise? Job-wise?

Is it possible to just apply to a school where they have a pharmacy program undecided and then apply to the program once there? Im interested in michigan as well as binghamtom(I saw that they just created a pharmacy program). I understand that I could take the longer way but my parents are adamant on me taking the quickest route for pharmacy. In regards to what to expect everything and anything you can tell me would be helpful!

What state do you live in?

Is money a concern? Will your parents pay 100%?

New York and I would definitely need financial aid @Madison85
