Info on the Ivies

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice about applying to some of the Ivies. I know there are a lot of good schools that are out there that are not Ivies, and I will apply beyond the typical HYP. I'm just curious about what my chances may be with schools like Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth etc.

please let me know where you honestly think i would fall among other candidates

also for other people who have been accepted to Ivies, could you maybe list your stats too?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this message!

anyone?

you are competitive, but no one can give you actual chances because all ivies are reaches for everyone because of their admit rates.

If you want to see stats for those who applied to ivies, visit the individual college forums and read through the decision threads.

Are you an international applicant? If so, this can greatly affect your chances.

You’re competitive. My daughter the Harvard admit also has a gold and 10 years with the Girl Scouts. Her interviewer was impressed by that, and her regional admissions officer pays a lot of attention to our regional interviewers – so we believe that the scouting was worth talking up, at least in the interview.

(Not all interviewers have as much influence.)

thank you guys!

@happiesthuman What major are you targeting? Pre-med?

You are definitely competitive. However, as you probably know, any of the ivies will reject you with a 2360 score if they don’t like something about the rest of your application.

You don’t seem to have a hard hook, so your essay’s will need to be compelling and demonstrate your passion for what you want to do. Knowing why you are interested in the particular college over other alternatives will also help.

Thank you for the advice everyone!
