So I just got my first decision today, and I was accepted by the University of Maryland School of Law. I am very excited, as I think that UM is an excellent school and a lot of its characteristics appeal to me. It's still a bit preliminary to start making a decision, as I'm waiting on quite a number of other schools, but I want to gather some info and start seeing if it would be a good fit. I would appreciate it if anyone with knowledge of this school could just give me their impressions of it, just to help me figure out what it's like.

Congratulations! I am in Maryland so I deal with UMD grads all the time. The only complaint I hear is that the placement office is not as strong as it should be. You have to take more control of your job search. If you do well there - especially if you graduate Order of the Coif/Law Review, you will have all your options - including "biglaw" with the starting salary of $160k. I love Baltimore so I think it is a good location. Do you know where you want to practice?

Thanks. My preference would be either the Northeast (where I'm from) or possibly West Coast, but I understand that there is less of a chance of that happening coming out of Maryland, and I think I would be willing to deprioritize that.

Bump...Anyone else with any info?
