Is this the same thing as an alumni interview? Just wondering so I know if this "interview" will be counted as part of my admission.

Thanks

I got a similar invitation for an informational session with a local alumnus. He clearly stated that it was not an interview and will not affect your formal interview process.

Oh ok thanks

Don’t just blow it off though. The alumnus writes down stuff that you probably couldn’t mention in a normal application and then sends it back to Cornell. It’s an opportunity for you to beef up your application.

I actually had my meeting today and it went well. It was mostly the alumnus talking so I think it really was just an informational meeting. He asked a few things about me but it wasn’t focused on me so much as the school. I didn’t see him writing anything, not sure what will happen in terms of sending back a report to the school.

I had mine about two weeks ago.

And like “tun” said, don’t just blow it off because it’s not official.

Not that i know how much weight is put on it but don’t count it out.

When i was finishing my interview, my interviewer asked me if she could help me tell the admissions office anything that i might like them to know.

I gave a couple things like an explanation for my horrendous freshman year and she was happy to help me with that.

Just one of those little things and couldn’t possibly hurt.

If you have something you would like the Admission Office to know, ask him/her if he/she doesn’t ask you.

You might not get the chance to after that.

Good Luck.
