I’m a second semester freshman and I went through recruitment about a week or so ago and was disappointed with the results. I quit because I only got invited back to one house and I didn’t really click with them so I decided it would be better to drop out of the process altogether than be stuck with people I don’t mesh well with. I’m fairly certain I was dropped from everywhere else because of my GPA (it was pretty low this semester because I got a C in math and having gone to high school in England the transition to the US school system was pretty challenging) because I really did have great conversations with a lot of the girls I met and felt connected to them. I want to either go through informal rush in the fall or wait another year until the spring to go through it again, either way I want to do it when I have a secure GPA and don’t have to worry about that aspect of it. If I already went through the process once, will it hurt my chances if I do it again? All input and opinions are welcome.
Excellent choice.
Well you have 0% chance of joining a house if you don’t do it again so doing it again can’t hurt you more than that. If GPA was really the reason and your GPA improves than I imagine you will be fine. If you weren’t invited back for other reasons then it’s probably not going to matter anyway.
