Information about the dorm McClintock?

Hi! I'm new to this site so I'm trying to figure out how things work. I'm an incoming freshman and I recently attended orientation and found out that I am in the dorm McClintock. Can anyone give me some information about the dorm? I know its a traditional and it's in the women's quad and stuff, I'm just looking for more information like is there a lot of storage and stuff like that. Also, if you or someone you knew lived in McClintock, did you (or they) enjoy it? I would love as much information as you guys can give me!! Thanks so much.

I’ve never actually been in McClintock, but I know a couple of girls who lived there this year.

Most basically tolerated it. They liked it for the location and the price, but weren’t singing its praises or anything. As far as freshman dorms go, it’s probably a decent one to get. It’s all girls, so it tends to be quieter so you can get some studying done when necessary. It’s in the middle of campus so classes are really easy to get to. It’s close to Russell House.

I don’t know about storage, but you can get a good idea about what type of situation you’ll be living in by looking at McClintock’s floor plan.
Your storage space will probably depend a lot on the specific room you get.

I know that in the dorm I lived in (Maxcy), there were rooms as small as 160 square feet (only 20 sq ft bigger than the single room I have next year in Woodrow) and rooms as big as 360 square feet. I don’t think other dorms are as sporadic with sizing, but even 10 sq. ft. can make a difference.

Thank you! I’m so excited to be a gamecock(:

I’ll second what AUGirl said. My daughter lived in Wade Hampton freshman year and did not have any major complaints. It was also good because it is close to the parking garage and library so it was a safe option for later night outings.

Congratulations on becoming a GAMECOCK! i hope you enjoy it as much as my daughter did!

Thank you so much! I’m sure it will be so much fun(:
