Informing Colleges of Decision

I meant all week to inform colleges that I won’t be attending in the Fall, but I completely forgot. Is this a bad thing or is it just impolite. I imagine that this happens a lot with people who waited until the deadline to decide on their school.

Out of courtesy, please inform them at any point in the next few weeks. All you need to do is send back those enrollment forms and say you have decided to attend elsewhere. It actually makes the school you are attending look better because the other schools know you preferred one of their competitors instead of them.

Please try to do it ASAP, for the sake of waitlisted kids. I know one "no" to a school won't make that much of a difference, but if a whole bunch of people wait and send them in weeks after May 1, then the waitlisted kids have to stay in limbo for that much longer.

Actually, can you send them an email? I sort of misplaced my reply cards when I received my GU acceptance...
