Insane Student...

OK so I know many of you out there know that perfectionist student (or are one...I mean this IS CC haha) that can't accept anything less than a 100 on anything. Well I have a bit of a situation...

This kid is RIDICULOUS. Like he took 4 APs in his sophomore year and managed to crank 99s in the classes and 5s on the exams (our school is hard as balls btw, one of the top in the state). He sits next to me in AP Physics and complains about getting 94s and 95s in front of me (I consistently get high 70s, and I'm a pretty damn good student). He took the SAT as a sophomore and got a 2300. This is where the issue comes in.

He retook the SAT this year, which is pretty crazy considering he already got a 2300. I was talking to my friend and out of the blue he was just like, "Hey, guess what I got on my SAT?" and I was obviously like, "What?" "I got a 2360"

I almost blew. Now, I'm pretty good friends with this kid and we bounce ideas back and forth over a lot of things, but I'm starting to get a little ticked. For example, I just like to gauge people's viewpoints on circumstances with a "What if...?". So knowing that he's a robot at school, I was like, "Hey, what if you hypothetically get a B in a class in college (he wants to be an engineer)?" or "Hey, what if you forgot your homework one day?"

His response: "Oh. That will never happen."

W T F W T F W T F

Will colleges look down upon a student who retook a 2300? I know you guys are referencing this christiansoldier guy but I just want some reassurance that I'm not the only one who just gets irked by kids like him.

Nope. Sounds like he’s just better than you.

I mean I’m a grade ahead so he’s not competition. He’s just pretty cocky about how great he is at school…I just kind of want to give him a reality check, that’s all.

there es a kid who gots 100 on all apc physics/econ/math/sat testes
hes just a jenius n me so dum ME SO DUM ME SO DUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

rest assured golfer, I think that many of us have encountered people like those (heck this is CC, there are probably hoards of those people on this very site!) But i honestly worry for kids like that, I mean I feel that if they get an 89 on a test or forget one homework assignment then they will just snap

^That’s what I’m saying. I’m not trying to rant on the kid I’m actually trying to look out for him because he’s a genuinely nice guy. I just feel like the whole “I won’t get a B as an engineer major” thing is ridiculous because honestly 99% of people at a good school will get a B at some point or another, ESPECIALLY as a masters/PhD student.

Engineering majors are said to be some of the hardest ones. GPA goes down. If you hear any stories, can’t say you didn’t warn the guy.

I have a friend who got a 36 on the ACT/2350 SAT and is the most humble, modest person I know. He dislikes talking about school (for the most part) and never talks about how intelligent he is.

One of the nicest kids I’ve met.

That is true intelligence. These kids who think they’re geniuses because they do well in HS/SATs? Probably not. There is a reason why you can no longer get into a High IQ society with SATs…
