Insight for an OOS decision

Hello all,

I am a senior in high school, and I have been directly admitted to Kelley and invited to join HHC. I would say investment banking is an intriguing field (and I know Kelley has the successful IBW program), but I couldn't confidently tell you what major within Kelley I would graduate with. After scholarships IU will cost around 28k per year for me. At this point my family has said they can afford the cost (I will take 5k per year in loans). I have two other options: Miami University's Farmer School of Business (17k per year, direct admit into SOB and Business Honors Program) and Ohio State University's Fisher School of Business (16k per year, direct admit to Fisher once I enroll due to my Honors program standing). Obviously, this is a large difference in cost of attendance, and I am seeking guidance from those who have made similar decisions. From my point of view, it's clear that Kelley is the top business school from those three, but is a Kelley education worth the extra 12k per year? I am seeking opinions, similar paths, general advice as I make this decision. Thanks for your help.

I think it depends on you. My son, believe it or not, is an Indiana resident who chose Farmer because it is smaller and he could get direct admit to honors. I think kids from Indiana and Ohio are fortunate to have these two excellent business schools with such different atmospheres so close together. Good luck with your choice!

Since IBW at Kelley is not a sure thing, I would not bet 50K on that. Miami and OSU are pretty comparable. The following link has more info on IBW and how difficult it is to get in.
