I can't ever sleep...I know this happens to a lotta nerds..But is it normal for a NON-NERD like me to suffer from insomnia?? What do you guys do to fall asleep? Some people need to arouse themselves to finallly get some resst. What's your method?

do you exercise at all? Because sometimes when I can't sleep its because of lack of exercise. That's why I usually try to run or do something earlier in the day.

I found the best sleep aid.

I got this on auido tape and I just listen to it till it knocks me out. Who knows, maybe I'll learn something too!

My son has insomnia problems also. He likes to work out alot and has more trouble on the nights he didn't get to the gym. It got so bad at college that student health put him on a sleep med --- that was big mistake and created many more problems, so he didn't stay with it more than about 3 weeks. Sometimes a meditation CD helps him or just listening to music on ipod. He stays away from caffeine, etc. I would be interested in suggestions from others also.

Not quite sure how this relates to chances, but...

I have noticed that a lot of students in college go to dances, workout, and get to know the members of the other gender quite well if you get my drift....and these students seem to be able to sleep okay (although it's done at weird hours).

Also, some students drink alcohol occasionally--although I don't suggest you do this unless you are of the proper age and then drink only in moderation--but it does help people to get to sleep.

I think the biggest thing, though, is just to de-stress. Usually this means getting your mind off your problems and on to more entertaining things--so go to a "mindless" comedy movie or spend time with friends doing some fun activities. Whatever you do, avoid lots of caffeine or time on video games--these get you hyped up and prevent relaxation and sleep.
