For the whole "Character in fiction...etc. who inspires you" essay, I came up with the following idea:
John Keating, the teacher (played by Robin Williams) in Dead Poets' Society! I know, I know, it's a movie (does that make me seem unsophisticated?), but I think his message of "Carpe Diem" really has affected me, and it's a topic I can easily talk about for hours.

What do you think??

P.S. If anyone steals my idea, I'll kill them . . . haha

Well, it depends on if you can really relate to that character and if that character accurately portrays who you are.

bump

C'mon, guys, it's one of the most inspirational films ever made!

Yeah, any character would work as long as he inspires you in some way, so go for it. Being from a movie doesn't make you seem unsophisticated, and I do agree that he was a really inspirational character. Good luck!

Thanks, Star!
I think it'll be a good one primarily because I'm already excited to write it!

"I was the intellectual equivalent of a 98lb weakling. I would go to the beach, and people would kick copies of Byron in my face!"
lol witty

Though it's something that ..I or most people probably wouldn't reference, there might be someone out there who loves DPS as much as you do. I think you could make this into a great essay. Just make sure you relate it to you. Don't make into a fan dedication to John Keating.
