Instant Decision Day

On December 8, NJIT is holding a Instant Decision Day. I was wondering which of these choices would be better for me for admission.

Apply normally online and wait for a answer

or

Go on the instant decision day and find out whether I got in or not

I just wanted to know which one gives me more chances if any. Thanks a lot for reading!

There is really no advantage in waiting to apply. They will use the same information to make their decision, and you will know right away. I say go for the instant decision. Yes or No, you will have your answer, and will be able to make your plans much sooner.

My guess only: You’re probably better off meeting an actual person. If you marginally are rejected, you can appeal – they want to find a way to get you in. Maybe they’re open to swaying if you barely miss it. It’s their job to sign up/admit students. They’ll use the same formula in person as a mailed application.

Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask?

A school with instant decisions will likely ask you this, once they calculate your GPA and test scores: what semester would you like to start?

My D did ‘instant decision’ at Bard a few years back. If my memory is correct, the interview there was more or less the same as every other interview that she had. They asked about her interests, etc. tried to get to know her as a person.
