Instant Messengers for Macs

I hate the AIM mac version. iChat is alright.
But I was just wondering if there is anything better that I could use with my aim screen name.
What do you guys use?

adium (!!!!)

why not just use MSN messenger instead?

Adium!!!

Stuck-on-1700, most Americans do not use MSN Messenger.

Adium, yeah. It's really good and had like everything in one program.

I never understood why Americans don't use MSN. Everyone else in the world does. =p

Minnesotans use MSN.

Everyone from my town has MSN (and if you have AIM, etc. you have it along with MSN), and when I go around and meet kids from other towns they'll ask if I have MSN (not AIM, etc.).

I have them all but i only use MSN for some reason. maybe because it looks better than the rest.

I always set myself to "appear offline" for everything. The last time I was "online" on MSN 50-bajillion people started talking to me. It was quite overwhelming.

Actually, it wasn't that many, but I wasn't used to talking to to a bunch of people at the same time.

I'm just permanently "away" or "busy". It usually works.. until the people you're avoiding realize you can't ALWAYS be away. But yeah.. then you can just ignore them and have an excuse.

^that happened with me once. I was talking to 4 different people. I got confused and all 4 coversations were mixed up. LOL. That was really funny..now i appear offline or not sign in at all (if i'm really busy)

Yeah, once I was copying something some guy was saying to me to a friend of mine.. and I accidentally copied it into his window. Which was really stupid.

Now I only talk to one person at once.

I can't do invisible mode with AIM for macs...
What is Adium? I haven't heard of it before...

Adium lets you use AIM, it's similar to trilium, and with it you can do invisible mode. it's GREAT

i have msn, but don't use it as often since i don't know many people on it.
adium sounds great.

I <3 iChat :)

Adium is good, some people just use their AIM sn on IChat..or there's another program called Fire which is very similar to Adium..

the problem with the regular AIM for macs is that it isnt updated for Mac OsX tiger.. so it always "unexpectedly quits"..but adium and fire dont have these problems..

That's why iChat ownes them all. Never crashed on me once.

Adium hasn't gone universal yet? seriously?

My boyfriend has a macbook pro (I have a powerbook) and adium hasn't crashed on him like ever.

Even if it's gone Universal I still prefer iChat. It's simple to use, and I love the interface. And I only use AIM anyway. Why bother with Adium?

AIM has never crashed on my Mac.... But I'm going to try Adium anyway!
