Instate shot

Oh please, I've been following the admissions process for years now. I'm familiar with how it works - don't come in here and lecture me. You're significantly below average in the two most important areas of the application. Think you have a special story? Everyone's got a special story. And again, some people are URMs, athletes, etc.

I'm not saying that you won't get in. I'm saying that it's unlikely that you'll get in. Don't you understand the difference? Unhooked applicants with your stats simply are not likely to get in.

The numbers you posted are for enrolled students. Here are some numbers from Davidson's own website for admitted students. Do you understand the difference?

<a href="http://www3.davidson.edu/cms/x6444.xml%5B/url%5D">http://www3.davidson.edu/cms/x6444.xml</a></p>

Your connection to the admissions office might help, but I wouldn't count on it.

yes, i understand the difference. There seems to be a signficant difference between the two, which is unfortunate. Well I don't think the word unlikely is the right word. Sure, I'm not guaranteed, either is anyone. Who knows, maybe a miracle will happen. I sure will let you know.

Do you think I might have a chance at University of Richmond? Although it's 20 minutes from home.

Unlikely simply means a good bit below average. If you have a 5% chance, it's still worth sending an app. If I were you, I'd still apply.

Yes, you probably have a decent shot at Richmond. I know several people who got are doing well there who got in with numbers like yours.

Maybe the music supplement will help get in. I've heard several stories of people who are positive they got because of the fine arts supplement. I'm just gonna take every practice test I can to get up these scores this summer. I hope it works. Do you think Richmond would be a better choice over JMU or VATech if UVA and Davidson don't work out?
