Inte'l Financial aid

Does anybody know if Lehigh gives generous financial aid to inte'ls? because I'm considering Lehigh and I ask for a lot of money

directly from Lehigh's website:

.."Q: Does Lehigh offer financial aid for international students?
A: During the 2003-2004 academic year Lehigh provided more than $900,000.00 in university-funded grants and scholarships to international students. 25% of our undergraduate international students receive financial aid awards. The average financial aid award is approximately $26,683.00. The financial aid awards ranged from $1,987.00 to $36,520.00. Our financial aid is typically awarded in "package" form, which includes some combination of grants and scholarships, loans and campus employment.

Awards are made on the basis of an analysis of a family's ability to pay for college and a student's academic achievement. Students applying for international student financial aid must complete and a copy of the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) AND a copy of the International Student Certification of Finances (ISCF). The ISFAA and ISCF may be available from your guidance counselor. You may also download a copy here or from the College Board website*. You may also request a copy by contacting the admissions office at admissions@lehigh.edu.

The ISFAA should be submitted at the same time as your complete application for admission. No awards will be granted solely on the basis of merit, but rather on the combination of financial need, academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.

Competition for international student financial aid is keen. Last year, only 15 students were offered financial aid packages out of the more than 300 admissible applicants requesting financial aid. You are strongly encouraged to explore other sources of scholarship and financial aid.

The decisions regarding the number of scholarships and the amount awarded to international students are based on the information students provide in their admissions application and ISFAA, and are made in the context of the entire applicant pool. It is not possible for us to give students an assessment of whether or not they will receive financial aid or how much they would receive without an application and ISFAA to review"

Good luck.

Thanks a lot, laxmom! Lehigh is not really generous, huh?

Uhmm, i've just noticed this: Lehigh said they gave out more than $900.000 financial aid to inte'ls but just 15 international students were awarded and the maximum award was $36520. Supposing all the 15 students were awarded the most generous package, the amount Lehigh gave out was just around $550.000.....

Doesn't look that way but at least they are upfront about it...sorry.

Maybe a call to the Fin Aid office would help.
