Has anyone participated in INTEL this year? I didn’t make it to the semifinal:( Would college admission officers give me some kind of credit for just interning at the lab and participating in INTEL without making to the semifinal?

No, because everyone I know did Intel and barely anyone at all made it to semi's, so it won't look very good to just say you basically tried and didn't make it. it's still cool that you took the intiative to do a project.

however, if the project idea is interesting, maybe you should mention it, I guess it depends on the nature of the project and how it relates to you

I would state that you were a participant. It still shows you have a drive and an interest.

Seriously, just applying to Intel is HUGE! Congratulations! Definitely, definitely mention your research- this will be a big asset of yours.

this hackensack school in new jersey is amazing at intel and all, you see them every single time. i'm very dissapointed at my little brother for not applying there,

Wait, are we all talking about the same Intel Science Fair competition?

Like, for mine, we worked with political science professors and did a project on election trends, but we didn't get any recognition (still was fun and I still talk to the professors, who are encouraging me to attend the university they are at :) )

However, we used our findings to start a political news website, which I Did mention on my app and the project did shape my interests a great deal
