intellectual interests, UGH!!!!

I have thought about this for so long and I have absolutely no idea where to start! Can anyone tell me waht they talked about so I have some idea what they are looking for?

Is this like...school subjects?....Would a musical instrument count as something intellectual?! I have no idea, please help....

Mine is the field of Theoretical Thinking. (E.g., Philosophy, Theology, Theoretical Physics and others)

yeah I talked about psychology 1st (more like mentioned), then told how i came to like it, then told why it was "exciting" to me

i talked about math

I think you're best off talking about school subjects, unless you take music theory classes or something like that. Just treat the question like a typical interview Q: What are your favorite subjects and why?

I talked about science, specifically my love of animals and biology (I'm applying AnSci). I referenced some of the things I've studied in school and then wrote about 3 or 4 other experiences that I've had outside of the classroom that have added to my love of animals.

-WJJ

Look at the programs at the department you're applying, or the department itself. Start there. Don't talk Music if you're applying Engineering or are a hotelie.

im applying communication....could i talk about my interests with my school publications program???

Well, yeah, but don't make it a typical so-so. Focus on a different aspect of publications or whatnot.

And don't make the connection very evident. Be subtle. Act as if you have no intention whatsoever to connect it with Communications.

ok, so it should be related to Communications, but i shouldnt make that connection obvious? is that what u mean?

geez....i hate this essay.

Not really. Make the connection obvious for them to see, but make them think that your answer was unintentional. Like, let them believe that your topic is related to the field of interest because it's truly your passion, not an admission strategy.

Btw, I hate the second short answer more. Until now I have no idea how to answer it. I mean, all I have to do is just take the courses.

hahahah thanks a lot for your help...hopefully this will be alright....

oh man i wrote it very obviously related to my major. (i mentioned my intended major.. -_-)

should i change it?
does any ED acceptee want to read and comment on it? plz pm me.

^There's nothing wrong with it. I don't think being that obvious would hurt you. I'm just, you know, playing the game ;)

can i ask how long was your answer?

Go ahead. Ask.

Seriously though, it's 245 words long.

another Q....

for science/math people it seems easy to pick an interest to talk about...obviously it would be science or math....

but since I am Communiation...im not sure that a school subject would really fit here...is talking about writing too broad?

Yeah, writing's too broad.

Not that I have any idea, of course. But you could write about it all you want, just make sure you approach the topic in a unique way.
